Safeguarding and Child Protection

Hugh Joicey C of E Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. All staff, volunteers and governors share this responsibility.

We have robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place and work closely with parents, carers and other agencies when concerns arise. Information may be shared where necessary to protect a child’s welfare. We also actively support the Government’s Prevent duty to help protect children from radicalisation and extremism.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Christopher Roberts, Headteacher
Deputy DSL: Anna Carr, EYFS Leader
Safeguarding Governor: Adele Pearson-Atkinson

Our governors regularly review safeguarding arrangements to ensure that procedures remain effective and up to date.

Photographs and videos

We recognise that photographs and videos are an important way of celebrating school life, while also taking children’s privacy and safety seriously. Parental consent is sought for the use of children’s photographs and information in accordance with data protection requirements.

Photographs taken by families at school events are for personal use and should not be published or shared online where this could place a child at risk. School photographs may be used on our website, Seesaw, newsletters and other school materials only where appropriate parental consent has been provided.
